Baveria - a great destination all year round
Bavaria is one of the most beautiful regions in Germany, known for its picturesque landscapes, stunning architecture, rich history, and world-renowned beer culture. From the majestic Alps to the idyllic countryside, Bavaria has something for everyone.
In this blog, I will explain some of the top attractions and experiences that make Bavaria a must-visit destination.
Munich
The capital of Bavaria, Munich, is a vibrant and cosmopolitan city with a rich cultural heritage. Start your journey here by visiting Marienplatz, the city's central square, which is surrounded by historic buildings and monuments.
There everybody is wearing the traditional clothes of Baveria, the beautiful Tracht. Girls normally wear a dress called Dirndl and Boys the Lederhose. Actually the clothes are very expensive, but you can buy one on vintage and get one for about 30 euros. But It is not necessary to wear the Tracht, but if you want to experience the complete Volksfest you should look like the locals.
The Bavarian Alps
The Bavarian Alps offer breathtaking scenery and outdoor activities all year round. Garmisch-Partenkirchen, a popular destination for skiing, is home to Germany's highest mountain, Zugspitze. In the summer, hiking and mountain biking are popular activities. The region is also known for its stunning lakes, such as the Königssee and the Eibsee, which offer boat tours and swimming opportunities.
Bavaria is famous for its beer culture, and you can't visit without trying the local brews. Beer gardens are a traditional way of enjoying beer in Bavaria. They are outdoor spaces where people can gather and enjoy beer and food in a relaxed atmosphere. Some of the most famous beer gardens are in Munich, such as the Hofbräuhaus and the Augustiner-Keller. The region also has many small and traditional breweries, where you can taste some of the best beer in the world. In addition you can do a brewery-tour, which is very interesting.
A very famouse food is the Weiswurscht with Breze. It is a sausage you eat with mustard. Traditionly you eat it in the morning with a Weißbier and people call it a Weißwurschtfrühstück.
